(internet) How spam is degrading the net
Report from Pew Internet that's been cited on Slashdot among other places. Quoting the Slashdot post: About a third of people responded to a spam, seeking more information. And 7 percent actually bought a product or service. Who are these people? Why are they doing this to us? (On the incredibly rare occasions I get a spam that might, just might, be relevant, I go to their website direct, rather than replying to the email. Don't want to encourage the spam). [edit] In the half minute I spent typing this post, I received two spam emails.[/edit] |
