Safari publishing books before they're written
Because it takes time to write and publish a book about a new technology, but the audience needs the book as soon as possible, Safari are offering customers the chance to buy a beta version of the book, giving them "early access to books on cutting-edge technologies...as they're being written." Customers "gain access to an evolving PDF manuscript that [they] can read, download or print." Best of all, "[readers] will have a chance to shape the final product [and] send suggestions, bug fixes, and comments directly to the author and editors." From Safari Bookshelf via BoingBoing. |
